Have you had the experience of being in a group setting and hearing that dreaded sentence: “Before we begin, let’s do an icebreaker!”?
Did your stomach automatically sink just reading that? It doesn’t have to be that way.
There are 3 things your icebreaker needs to be in order for your audience to enjoy it.
- Non-threatening
- Inviting
- Full of choices for your audience
In today’s video, I’m going to give you one of my absolute favorite icebreaker exercises that fulfills all 3 of those criteria AND will actually be enjoyable for your group.
This exercise uses We! Engage Cards…which you’d love if you don’t already have them…or you’re welcome to use a printable sample version of the deck on our free resources page.
This exercise is great for new groups OR groups that have worked together for 10 years. And, just for fun, I share 3 different variations on that icebreaker so you can shake things up at every meeting. (See – it’s already fulfilling characteristic #3)

PS 🎉 BRAND NEW🎉 – In case you didn’t know, LittleLittlefield #2 is on their way—due in just a couple of weeks! And I’m going to be disappearing into some insomnia-filled paternity leave for a while 🤣
Brand new as of today though you can book an on-demand virtual workshop with me—even while I’m not available! Say what?!
I’ve designed and filmed a completely new internet-bending Workshop-in-a-Box concept that you can use completely asynchronously to still get “pre-recorded me” to lead a session with your group, even when I can’t physically be there. Check out this page and the video at the top for pricing and details.
