Leadership Tips by We!Icebreakers (that don’t suck) Build Trust
Above is a demo of one of Chad and Will’s favorite interactive exercises to create “connection before content” at any team meeting, retreat, conference, workshop, or off-site. While we use our We! Connect Cards, you can always just create your own questions on a 3×5 index card. Pro tip: Whenever you lead a question swap, an icebreaker, or a teambuilding exercise, one way to make it more impactful (and suck less) is to offer “challenge-by-choice” to the group. You can do this by inviting them to choose a particular color card to the corresponding color code below. And you can also remind folks that they are the only ones that get to choose how they respond to the question. They can go deep. Or they can stay on the surface. 95% of the time when you offer people that choice and invite vulnerability into the room, they accept the challenge.
