Set routines help us get things done, and they offer much more reliability than creating something new. After all, what if that new coffee place down the block serves us the wrong order? Now we are five minutes late. Unfortunately, though, the same mindset usually creates a certain amount of predictability. If we fall too deeply into this routine, we may miss out on exciting possibilities.
Easily enough, not much effort goes into breaking the Same Old, Same Old mindset. Making a shift toward a Create New mindset can be as simple as finally starting up a conversation with the new coworker, using a different pen, or dyeing our hair. The point is, even the simplest of tasks can make the ultimate difference in how we see the world. As Chad mentions in this week’s Dynamic video, if we imagine walking into the workplace is like walking up to a blank canvas, we have every opportunity to create something magical.
Watch Will and Chad discuss the importance of creativity in the workplace, and life in general in the video below.
